Axi Legal helps not only with one-off contract questions, but above all with organising legal work more smartly. Sometimes that starts with a single Contract Review. Sometimes with a workflow for recurring questions. Sometimes with ongoing legal support.
More than one review
Need legal support more often?
For scale-ups and companies with a growing contract flow, one review is often not enough. Axi Legal therefore also offers ongoing legal support for recurring legal questions, and legal automation for those who want to streamline processes such as contract intake, NDA generation and risk flagging — always with a human checkpoint.
Axi Legal is a Netherlands-based B2B service for contract review, legal automation and legal workflow support for companies without an in-house legal department. Axi Legal was developed by L. Beute, with over 20 years of experience in legal, finance and compliance — of which more than 10 years of in-house legal and management experience at international organisations, and earlier experience in tax law at EY. AI supports the analysis and preparation. The assessment remains professional and human. With an eye for legal, commercial and practical impact.

A free AI tool gives you an automatic summary: risks flagged, with no accountability and no one to tell you what they mean for your business. At Axi Legal, an experienced legal counsel with over 20 years in commercial contracts, privacy and finance reviews your contract and translates the legal risks into concrete choices: sign, amend or negotiate. Technology supports the process; the judgement stays human. And your documents are not used to train public AI systems.
No. Axi Legal is not a law firm and does not perform work that may only be done by a lawyer or notary, such as mandatory court representation. The services consist of practical legal analysis and contract support, professionally validated by an experienced legal counsel.
In most cases, no. For business clients, the processor terms are included in Annex 1 to our general terms. By placing the order or paying for the contract review, you also accept these processor terms. On request, we can send the processor terms separately.
No. Where we use AI tools, we configure them so that client documents are not used for public model training. Where external suppliers are used, we make agreements about confidentiality, security and the processing of personal data.
One review = one document, up to the maximum number of pages in your package (each Contract Review uses the selected page tier; attachments count). Attachments count. Larger documents are priced separately by agreement.
As standard, within two business days on business days, as a best-effort obligation upon timely and complete delivery of documents and context. Express Review is available (+€100) for contracts up to 30 pages, delivered by the end of the next business day when received before 12:00.
Yes. The one-time Contract Review costs from €199 excl. VAT (within two business days). This is a good way to get acquainted with the service without a subscription. Contact us via the form below.
An uploaded document from an incomplete order is deleted within 24 hours. After completion we retain the relevant file (your contract, our report and the associated data) for seven years after completion: the first 90 days as an active file, then as a restricted-access archive. After seven years it is deleted, unless a statutory retention obligation, an ongoing dispute or a written agreement requires longer retention. Invoices and financial records are retained in accordance with statutory retention obligations.
No. Axi Legal focuses on contract review, risk analysis and practical contract support. For employment disputes, court proceedings, notarial matters, tax-specialist questions or other complex material issues, we advise engaging a lawyer, notary or other specialist.
Yes, with the Business subscription and the one-off Contract Review, alternative or additional clause language is provided where relevant as a starting position for negotiation. This text is a practical tool and not a definitive legal opinion.
That can happen, and we are open to it. Contact us at contact@axilegal.com with your explanation. We are happy to discuss the analysis with you and will adjust our report if new information or context gives reason to do so. The analysis is always based on the documents and context provided — additional information may lead to a different assessment.
Yes. Axi Legal drafts and reviews employment documents: employment contracts, freelance and service agreements, staff handbooks, confidentiality and non-compete clauses, and standard letters. What falls outside the scope is individual disputes and proceedings: dismissal files, sickness and reintegration cases, employment disputes and collective-bargaining questions. For those we recommend a specialised employment lawyer.
Yes. We help with reviewing and drafting freelance agreements and practical questions about client contractor risk (DBA). We do not provide tax advice. For complex DBA matters we advise additionally engaging a specialist.
Yes. We review SaaS contracts, licence agreements, data usage arrangements and AI-related clauses on liability, data use, model training and output ownership. Because Axi Legal itself uses AI, we pay particular attention to risks often underestimated in this type of contract.
